Update on the next couple of months.

  • Saturday 29th March TAE Technical seminar, Red belts and above only. ALL students that are at red belt level need to attend this unless there is an extremely good reason why you cannot. Remember that you will not be able to apply for black belt grading or pretest until you have attended at least two.

  • Sunday 30th March, Spring TAE Blackbelt grading and pretest. All students involved should attend wearing official dress code and bring their dobuk with them. Navy Suit, Blue Tie and white shirt and black shoes. Only Blackbelts are authorised to wear ITF ties.

Up and coming competitions

  • Sunday 13th April ITF Scotland Open championships, Motherwell.
  • Sunday 27th April MSBA Open championships, Linlithgow.
  • Saturday 17th May TAE team championships, West Denton.

We have started squad training now as we did last year in three venues rotating round between the three. All students are invited to attend who wish to enter a competition or even just improve their skills.

With regards to the up and coming TAE Team Championships, we will be attempting to retain the shield we first won in 2012 and retained in 2013. To do this we need to focus on patterns firstly to allow our team patterns to be really well practiced and stand head and shoulders above all other schools. If we win the lion share of patterns it will make it extremely difficult for our squad to be beaten. To do this we need as many competitors as possible to attend all the squad training sessions so they can work with their allotted teams. ITS ALL ABOUT TEAM WORK!!!

We also have 15 minute sessions at the end of the little dragon classes to allow them to work on patterns and also jumping kicks. Thanks in advance to all the junior mentors who have volunteered to come and help the next generation to prepare!!
