Further success on the road for Jon Churchward Schools of TaeKwon Do students
Local TaeKwon Do students from the Jon Churchward Schools of TaeKwon Do took to the road again this time up into Scotland to take part in the Linlithgow Open International Championships. The club took 25 students ranging from 6 years old up to over 40 years to compete in a truly international competition. The individual competitors took part in categories of Patterns, Points sport sparring and jumping high kicks.
The day went extremely well for the squad who are well in to the swing of “competition season” and have been working hard in practice for many months to be selected by the club to represent the TaeKwon Do Association of England alongside other member clubs from the North of England.
There was some fantastic performances from the team who competed admirably against students from huge academies from as far away as Poland, Ireland and Scandinavia as well as the best to offer from other parts of England, Wales and Scotland. Final medal tally weighed in at an impressive 10 gold, 7 silver and 10 bronze .
Mr Churchward said” I could not be prouder at how well the squad coped and performed and it is in part down to the sheer dedication and commitment to train hard and be prepared that they have been so successful, they deserved everything they achieved and I am very lucky to have such a great set of students that are undoubtedly on the track for future success in European and World championship level if they continue to develop in this way”
