2009 was a very good year for the club.
- We took a total of 45 medals including 16 golds as well as 3 best competitor trophies at both competitions and almost took the title of best club at the November coming a very close second to Mr Stronach’s Reflex TKD club by just one gold.
- We held 4 gradings during the year that were well attended by students that had reached the required standard.
- We started a new class night at West Road Centre for sport on Tuesday evenings and started Little Dragon classes at Rowlands Gill and Ryton. Squad training has been held building up to the November competition which proved very successful.
- We held two little Dagon gradings at Ryton in the second part of the year which were very well attended.
- We completed two excellent demonstrations at the Ryton Hirings Festival and the Newcatle Mela which proved very popular and feedback was excellent.
- We also hosted a sparring seminar in which we invited Mr Grant Churchward 4th Degree from Devon to take the club through some great sparring drills.
Christmas party seemed to be a big success at the Namco bowling centre we had almost 100 people in attendance.
